The founder

Agnes Ampofo Agyei is a highly accomplished Public Health Professional and Midwifery Officer with a passionate commitment to improving maternal health and preventing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Ghana. With over a decade of experience in both clinical midwifery and public health advocacy, Agnes has become a key figure in community-based health interventions, strategic planning, and health education.

Currently serving as the Non-Communicable Diseases Programme Coordinator at the Kumasi Metro Health Directorate, she leads health initiatives focused on reducing the burden of chronic diseases in vulnerable populations. Agnes holds a Master of Public Health in Population, Family and Reproductive Health from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery from Garden City University College, and a Diploma in Midwifery from the Mampong Nursing and Midwifery College.

Agnes is the visionary behind the establishment of the Well Woman Clinic at Manhyia Government Hospital, a pioneering unit dedicated to cervical cancer screening, breast examinations, and reproductive health counseling. Her clinical and managerial experience is complemented by her role as a long-standing health show host and producer, through which she has educated the public on critical health issues via television and radio platforms in Kumasi.

She has collaborated with global partners, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and JSI, on initiatives addressing vaccine hesitancy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her international recognition includes a presentation of her MPH dissertation at the 36th International Papillomavirus Conference in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Beyond her professional duties, Agnes is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS), and the International Society of Hypertension. In 2020, she was honored with the Presidential Award for Distinguished Service and was named an Africa Peace Advocate in 2024.

Agnes’s work embodies a fusion of compassionate care, strategic leadership, and tireless advocacy for women's health and well-being. Her dedication continues to shape health policies, influence national programs, and inspire community-based solutions that improve lives across Ghana.
